The Ujamaa Theater Company established 1977 by Titus Walker. The Ujamaa Theater is about the positive projection of African American Though Theater or any media form. ​

The UJAMAA Black Theater is a community-centered performing arts and theater initiative focused on storytelling, cultural expression, and artistic development rooted in Black history and community experiences. Inspired by the principle of “Ujamaa” meaning collective economics and cooperative community building the theater uses drama, music, dance, and spoken word to uplift emerging artists while exploring themes of resilience, identity, faith, and social change.

The theater also serves as a creative learning space, offering acting, vocal, dance, and performance training through fellowship-style and developmental programming for youth and aspiring performers.
